Release bearing

I know its here somewhere but i cant find it

Which release bearing are we supposed to use for the swap? Is it e21.

I've read that the normal 328 one works with no probs but while the engine and box are out m putting new clutch plate and slave etc in so may aswell stump for the right bearing

Im using the e36 box with a lightened m20 flywheel and clutch

You can use a M20 release bearing. That's what I have in mine.

Ok cool, im sure i read somewhere the e21 item is slightly deeper and takes a bit of slack up the m20 item has ??

Tiny bit, but not worth worrying about. There are plenty of M20 release bearings out there with no reported problems.

I don't think so, as I believe you need to use all M20 clutch parts with the M20 flywheel (& starter motor). I'm sure somebody will be along to correct me if I'm wrong.

^^^ I don't remember them looking hugely different but as said I'd stick to all M20, you'll get one with the clutch kit anyway.

If your using an M20 fly, an M20 clutch, then you should be using an M20 release bearing

im running an m42 box on mine with m20 clutch+fly setup, m20 release bearing works perfectly fine with no issues to report what so ever, i put over 5000 miles on my m50 with this setup and have had the m52 running on this setup for over 2 months now

If your using an M20 fly, an M20 clutch, then you should be using an M20 release bearing
