Hello folks,
Finally got my gearbox out at the weekend, changed the input shaft oil seal and filled with fluid, refitted an took the car for a run round the block.
then noticed the fluid pi55ing out the bottom of the bellhousing; nice little trail where i driven. I have since noticed that I have made a bit of a mistake with the fluid, seems i have put in ATF fluid instead of SAE80. :o:
Supid question really; is this likely to be the cause of the fluid leak? The seal fitted correctly. I have 325i manual.
I did also notice on the gearbox that there was quite a bit of play on the input shaft, is this normal?
Thanks.

guessing knackered shaft, so there is too much play hence the leak, drain and re-fill with SAE80, ATF is going to do you no favours at all.
