Standard 2dr, no sideskirts, nothing. I am thinking of putting on a front splitter and a set of SE skirts on the side, however i would like a functional front splitter as my daily drive to work are mainly 'B' roads which some rather sharp tight bends etc etc etc.
Any Suggestions?

Its off a 740 i think, you flip it upside down, cut about 2-3 inches off either end , and a few self tappers, some have used cable ties, and you have a diy , is spoiler, I've done two, I'll put photo up later,
Cost wise volvo lip, bought both of mine for ten quid each, and an hr of your time, proper is lip £50 +

Personally, not a fan the volvo splitter, had one on my touring and binned it. IMO they are too big and to pull it off you need biggish wheels and a good stance. 15 inch bbs and a 40mm drop just wont cut it.
The IS splitter looks very good but they are expensive and prone to destruction if your car is low.
I now have some sort of GM splitter on mine and is between the IS and volvo splitter. It cost me £5 and is super flexible

Many moons ago when I worked for Renault there was a phase when people were putting Espace front lip spoilers on E30's. The mind boggles.

Back in the day, I think the espace splitter was attached to just about anything.powelly wrote:Many moons ago when I worked for Renault there was a phase when people were putting Espace front lip spoilers on E30's. The mind boggles.

was thinking something GT4 style, something functional to give additional downforce on turn in for corners, going to fit a heck spoiler to the rear since i have no bodykit, a tech 2 spoiler would just look stupid and tech 1 are too expensive.
got 15" rims 205/55/15 with 60/40 springs so can't go too low on the front spoiler, was thinking standard spoiler with a functional splitter, would an E36 M3 front spiltter work? may need some trimming etc, was thinking something along these lines-

Seen front carbon splitter and rear diffuser for E30's on the CA website, looks very very nice but will cost over £1k, can't justify that.

3rd pic is about how low my car sits with the standard front spoiler (basically plastic piece of trim) so an IS lip would probably get ripped off pretty quick with all the speed bumps around me (big block paved ones which i have to angle to car to go over anyway, 1 front wheel at a time otherwise it gets grounded and the front and the exhaust).
Just trying to find a cheap way to improve the look at the front and it be functional really. B roads to and from work are fun but you need a car that handles well, lots of tight bends and 'S 'bends on the roads i use daily.
Got more than enough work in the mean time as i need to get it on the road first, then cross fingers adjustable ARB and Strut braces, then a splitter of some kind.
Got sills to be welded and a couple of patches, paintwork (prep almost done) and last of the mechanical stuff, (solder wired, couple of sensors and a thernostat, plus get the heater working). plenty to be getting on with.

the real issue is does the Volvo one or IS one actually give you any real performance benefit on corners or just look nice, would like a mix of both. My car is black and would look good with the Volvo one.

could probably get away with the volvo one and add front corner splitters, should make a difference then, plus its all plastic so easily and cheaply replaced.

I fail to see how adding corner splitters or a front lip is going to add handling performance to something that aerodynamically resembles a brick (more or less), and weighs as much as a house (more or less)...
If you want good cornering, spend money on a good suspension setup and get some sticky fat rubber on the wheels.

suspension is going to get done, only issue is 45mm struts. The corner splitter helps turn in at speed and helps conbat any understeer you may have, same as on track. I don't drive hard, but i drive quick and don't slow down much for corners hence i want to get a good setup.

Dude you are on another planet if you think that some plastic trim on the front of an E30 is going to make the blindest bit of difference at any speeds or conditions you travel at ON THE ROAD.m8782538 wrote:suspension is going to get done, only issue is 45mm struts. Dailly commute?????? It will make as much difference as a slash in the ocean!
Leave the E30 and take the swift mate, keep it in the low gears round the twisties, but I don't think you will have a problem with that though
On another note, if you watched top gear on Sunday they were talking about down force on an F1 car, I suggest you watch it on iplayer or something to realise what you have just asked.
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.
