So, after 3 summers in a Carcoon, I'm finally intending to get my Motorsport back on the road! I have been absent from the zone for quite a while (the z4 forums are not a patch on this) and have a few questions in anticipation of getting her ready;

1. After a new and slightly rebuilt engine in 2007, the m20 now has a BBTB, ITG induction, schrick 272 cam, Sebring 3 piece and an a-tech chip. The Sebring back box has to go, should I replace it with a boysen?

2. The car has sat in a Carcoon so should have stayed dry etc but having read all the recent refurb posts, I'm more than a little concerned that my previously sound sills, scuttle and arches will have deteriorated. Should I get all the tech II kit off and hunt around it for rust?

3. There IS rust around the numberplate lights, to the point where the lights are falling out. what can I do about this?

4. Whilst in the Carcoon, the OBC developed a bleed across the screen and now shows nothing but orange light. Any ideas what may have caused this?

5. What is the best way and cost of mapping the ecu for the BBTB/schrick/Sebring combo? Should I be fitting a 6 branch to get the most out of this?

For the moment I think that is all, some pointers would be a huge help so I can start to budget for this revival! Thinking about a good service/MOT/tax/insurance is scaring me a little already!

Finally, who is around in the east/Ipswich area, would be good to meet some of the now considerable number of zoners, a far cry from the 200 odd members in 2004!

Thanks

Will

Absolutely mate, I will never be able to sell it, it's a lifetime car. Long term plan is full resto a la Simon13 and others. For now though just want it back on the road? Are you back in the world of e30 ownership?

Maybe there were too many questions, just ideas on a couple of them would help a lot - what can I do about rusted through number plate light panel and why might the obc have killed itself

Thanks in anticipation
