Brief background, my wipers were stuttering so I performed the wiper motor maintenance commonly undertaken. All was fine until until a week or so later when the wipers stopped working on all speeds including single sweep function, after stripping the motor again I managed to get the wipers operational but only on max speed, if I hold the stalk. Thus when I let go of the stalk the wiper stop in there current position.

This has lead me to think that the stalk might be knackered and am currently on the look out for another. I have found one on the net but they have a choice of "Intensive Wash" and "Non Intensive Wash", how do I know which one to get for a facelift with headlight washers?? The Intensive wash ones are twice the price, not that that matters to me.

Intesive wash stalks push in to operate the intensive wash feature,as well as pulling toward you for the standard wash.

Intensive wash fitted cars have a second screen wash bottle fitted, close to the standard one.

If you have headlamp wipers, you will have intensive wash, since it was part of the same package.
The 'standard' wiper stalk will work for all functions except the intensive wash, but if you wish to retain this feature, you'll need the stalk to suit.

Should be filled with a special concentrated washer liquid from BMW, which is very effective at shifting squashed bugs and diesel deposits very quickly after long dry periods. You don't need the intensive wash very often, but it's very useful to have when the occasion demands.
