I have just my 325 back from the garage and apparently the fuel tank is rusting where the filler pipe meets the tank. Does anyone know how difficult it is to change the fuel tank? Is it possible to do it on axle stands or is it worth paying the garage Ԛ£70 to avoid the hassle?

Secondly how much should i pay for a second hand one and does anyone have one for sale. I would looking to get one in the year new!

Cheers Rich

There was a nearly new tank on ebay, in anglesey, not u for much.

You might be able to do it on axle stands, depends how hard you are!
I've done a gearbox on axle stands...

You don't need to take out the rear suspension....

Also if your taking the tank out, replace the rear metal brake lines while your there only cost a couple of Ԛ£ and there probably rusting anyway.

Rear exhaust, drive shaft, heat shield and 5 x 13mm bolts.

it pretty much then falls off the bottom of the car.

Can be done on axle stands.

I also have a fuel tank for sale if you want it. Ԛ£25 + postage of Ԛ£10 = Ԛ£35
PM me for details and pictures if you wish.
