i have to share this with you guys
over the last year ive been rebuilding my ol e30 all the chassis been done all new poly bushes stainless steel brake lines new bmw hard lines new brakes the works o and of corse a new engine

over the year some bits have been a right pain in the arse first block i started with i wernt happy with so binned it got another block
extreamly happy with this one hardly no wear on the bores very low milage block , then i go and snap a tap down the head bolt hole grrrr
yet another block started again this went ok its had a fresh regrind new mains and big end bearings every seal is new every gasket is new , new rings
welded head as its going to be a turbo engine new m20 turbo cat cam new rockers vernier pully the works spent ages getting everything nice and how i want it its still not on the rd yet as it still has to be swapped over to megasquirt

BUT after checking dialing in the cam checking again checking and more double checking today i felt was the day all i needed was a new rotor arm so i rushed to the nearest halfords picked one up cleaned the leads and my dizzy cap up checked all my sparks, all good checked my oil levels and primed, check,
fuel ,check , bearing in mind ive never dialed in a cam before its took me 3 weeks to be confident enough to feel that its right

now the moment of truth

i turned the key
it turned over and over and over then cough cough cough

THEN IT FIRED it started after just 5 turns ish and ran on its own no knocks no bangs just purred i couldnt believe it after a long year the ol girl lives again

so bloody chuffed :D

Sounds very sweet, so how long before you take it for a spin?

Stops the head from cracking, common place to go on a turbo'd M20

sounds nice don't it that was straight out of the down pipe :) well I've gotta fit my new suspension and my new brakes yet before I take it round the farm looking forward to it

we weld them coz when the boost comes in the weakest point to blow is in-between the water gallery and the bore so with it being welded it halts the chance or eliminate the head gasket blowing
my mate welded it up for me and only charged me 50 quid plus the skim cheap as chips :)
