After my recent spending spree, I require a VERY good forum for the e36 Ti sport.
I have tried a few but there seems to be nothing that comes close to the "Zone"........................Unless YOU know different.
Also, where the hell is the aireal on a compact ?
Cheers, Mart.

I presume you've found www.e36coupe.com? & is the compact one of those cars that uses the HRW element as the aerial?

That's the only E36 forum that I'm aware of, so yep you've got a problem if you want it to be better!
I'm confused as to what you're asking about the aerial though - if you know that it doesn't have one, why do you want to know where it is?

Looks like the amplifier for it will be in the boot if that's what you're after? http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do ... g=65&fg=30

Mart, I assume you're having radio reception difficulties? If so, make sure that the antenna amplifier signal wire is connected to the back of your head unit. It's a white wire from the BMW stereo loom.
You need to connect this to the 'remote-out' pin on your head unit (the same you would connect to an external amplifier to tell it to power-up - often a blue wire with white stripe).
If your car has an after market head unit, it's quite likely that whoever fitted it didn't connect the remote wire that tells the antenna amplifier to power-up.
As mentioned above, the 'e36coupe' forum is actually pretty damn good. It's the best i've found for all things e36. Different to this place, but that doesn't mean it's not good...! ;)

I'm not particularly familiar with the e36 compact (I own a coupe) but by looking at the diagram in the link Ziggy posted above, it appears it's located in the tailgate / boot lid on the offside. Although it's not clear where the signal wire to the antenna is routed.
