hi guys,

i'm swapping and m50 into a merc 190e the e36( rear bowl sump) non vanos i've got is hitting the steering arm on the sump i know a e34 sump is differant but not sure it would clear the crossmember.

so could some one measure me the sump from an e34( front bowl) what i need is:
the distance from the gearbox end of the sump to the bowl
then from there to the front of the engine
the depth of the bowl from the rest of the sump.

many thanks
chris

I'll try and remember to take a look tonight mate. (as it's on the stand).
No warranty given on the information I provide though.

Roughly speaking, and remember that the angles are not all 90deg.
Back of engine to bowl is 35cm
Front of engine to back of bowl is 27cm
The bowl depth (when the engine is on mounts (inclined) is 11cm

I hope this helps.
If this is borderline and you want more accurate measurement of a certain part I'll be able to do it this weekend.
