I've bought this diff, it's from an E28 525e with 307 0937 on the tag, do I swap back plates to fit it to my E30 and is the ratio 2.93 or is it a 3.07?

They are usually 2.93 I believe, but if it says 307 on the tag...
Work out the ratio yourself if you have it by turning the input and counting

I think I'm getting there, so I just fit the E30 back plate/rear cover and output shafts.
I've got a tourer with m52b28 and e36 5speed box. I'm quite sure it's got a 3.15 ratio diff in at the mo and I'm still using way to much juice at cruising speed.
