Valve clearances yet again

let the car sit all night to cool, went through all the valves set to .25mm and believe it or not i think it has made my problem worse, before it didnt sound too bad and when i first checked them all the gaps were less than .25mm altho there was 1 individual tick that was doing my nut in which i am now told IS the injector, would I be wise in working my way back down the feelers?? wish i never touched them now
