temp gauge m52

which temp gauge swich do you use? it has a round 4 pin one and had a black 2 pin, on the wire loom it says brown temp on the plug, the brown one's thread is too big to go into the engine

any thoughts or what you have used?

yeah mines like that but the single pin (brown) wont fit? will blue do? it had a black 2 pin one in there which is broken

I don't know to be honest mate, I got my loom from Dan, so maybe he has grafed a M20 connector onto the loom.

Edit, are you saying the temp sensor won't screw into the head?

I just bought a new M20 one from the stealers and it went straight in.

Dont you have to "file" the threads down a bit for the temp switch to fit?

the threads are the same pitch,

but on the M20 sensor the threads stick out more/larger

so in order for it to fit, run a flat file over/round the thing

Its the brown plug off the m20 and mines screwed straight in no file required

It will need turning down and a new thread cut, the E30 sender is 14mm thread, the smaller hole in the M52 head is 12mm
Some of the earlier M52 heads (like Lees above) have two large 14mm holes and one 12mm
From the sounds of it yours has just the one 14mm and one 12mm

just had a look, and mine only has two holes the brown wont go into the right hand hole?
