Ok I know you can slope a sub box, but is it possible to have it staggered so it fits under the hood compartment in the boot? So it has a sort of step shape? It will be ported as well.

The shape is of little concern, it is the internal volume of the box that affects the speaker performance. Dont forget to consider the size of the magnet etc as it subtracts from the volume.

Its a big magnet! Its one of the MTX 12" subs. Not got the model number to hand or would put specs up. How would you calculate the volume and the port size on such a shape though? Need it to have a volume of about 2.2 cubic feet and a frequency of 33hz.

Was originally going to slope it to use the space under the hood compartment, but thought this would save more boot space this way.

Design the box shape you want and I can tell you what port size you need.
