e90 key falls out of holder

Hi guys
a friend just called about there 3 series the car starts and runs fine but the key keeps falling out of the holder haven't had much to do with these so any pointers would be great

The ignition barrel?
The fob?

Its a keyless system and the key/fob holder in the dash will not hold the key the two little arms that are meant to hold it are not working. Got a look at it today and ordered a new holder item 1 on realoem

if its a keyless (Comfort Access) system then u dont need to put the key into the ignition slot u should be able to leave key in your pocket and just start the car, if it isnt a keyless system then the ignition slot is faulty and requires replacing

just got a new holder off bmw today around 70 euro which wasn't bad will fit it tomorrow if I can get a chance to do it

New key holder fixed it no probs 5 minute job
