If I installed an E30 M3 5 lug setup onto another E30 (318iS), what offset should I be looking at for the wheels?
Im thinking of getting BBS RC041's, with an ET41 offset.
Would these be Ok using the M3's setup (front and rear)?

Cheers

I want the conversion for more brake options tbh. I refuse to fit WMS shit on my car. AP Racing all the way. I dont want the wheels for aesthetic reasons either - they have a slight bulge which would help aid calliper clearance.
Thanks for the specs Theo - ill get digging with that.

Aw, that makes me feel all warm inside!Letsplayskatch wrote:I refuse to fit WMS shit on my car.

erm? if you feel the need for ott braking systems for a 318 surely you wouldnt want some budget tyres connecting you to the road? They`re your tyres man!!!Letsplayskatch wrote:Lol sorry about that, I cant see much point buying budget braking systems
! I mean; tyres, or pattern body parts - maybe

Edited after having a look today - there's less lug>lug room than I thought, might need a rethink.Kos wrote:keri, what the score with the e36 set up you were working on ?

Im not being funny but i think the op needs to read a few threads that you guys at WMS have been involved in as then he or she will see what research you have done for this one vehicle.keri-WMS wrote:Kos wrote:keri, what the score with the e36 set up you were working on ?![]()
Ah well, I've been doing some testing (E30 M3 is part of the same project), quick version to try and keep this on topic:
- There is a new caliper, it's on the shelf but under wraps!
- I expect to have news and photos next month....
That's it for now!

No, they wont fit. i tried a 7.5 et38 wheel on my m3 and they rubbed the front strut, and theyll sit too far inside the arch.Letsplayskatch wrote:Hello all,

Gareth that cracked me up. It needs revs so it must be a baby M3, which must need M3 suspension, 17's and 325mm AP's!!!! Probably need two calipers each wheel, two 8-pots might just cope with the warp drive power plant.gareth wrote:I see why you need AP racing brakes.. You own a mighty a 318is! Now it all makes sense, the sheer power of the M42 can't be tamed by smaller brands.
Well Mr informed researcher how about you try the link below rather than asking such lowly opinions as ours, in a DISCUSSION FORUM of all places, and certainly try it before buying 8 a wide wheels with ET41 offset.Letsplayskatch wrote:A whole page's worth of postings, 90% of which are personal opinion rather than fact. And **** me do I not want your opinions on my tastes or (and I know this may come as a shock) informed research.
Being the OP, I thought the only personal opinon that would matter in my own thread would be.. ERRR, mine? And who's to say I havn't done my research?
Nothing like a bit of classic forum-anonymity dick-swinging.
But cheers for that info harry_pI'll have a look about.

no worrieskeri-WMS wrote:Edited after having a look today - there's less lug>lug room than I thought, might need a rethink.Kos wrote:keri, what the score with the e36 set up you were working on ?
I was thinking 320mm/17" or smaller if possible, but it's looking like being a real pain - it'll need a "rotated" bracket if that makes sense, meaning handed brackets and double the cost to stock/prototype...Kos wrote:dont forget to pm me when you work something out. you designing them to work behind 17's and with a factory et wheel ?
