Got an M50 Vanos engine that the headgasket has gone on.
Already got a replacement skimmed and pressure tested head/gasket kit/bolts etc to rebuild it.
Also got the vanos tools too.
Ive never took the head off/put back on one of these so looking for pointers and tips for doing it.Also any info/pics etc on how to set up the vanos etc?
Engine will probably be coming out this weekend so ill probably be starting the headwork in the next week or so.
Ill be bolting a turbo to this in the near future so any tricks whiles it stripped?

Tony, on my epic build thread in the earlier parts, there is some M50 head autopsy going on, but it was a non-vanos lump, but the basics will be the same save for the vanos witchcraft

This thread was aimed at Dan to be honest
Ill have a nosey through your thread and see whats what.
Cook has put the E36 Bentley manual on disc for me so all the torque settings etc will be in that.
Its more the setting up of the vanos to be hlonest.
I know Monkey has experience of doing the vanos but would be nice to do it myself
