1st of all welcome to the zone, i also think that if you mean the car is "about Ԛ£500" take it, the engine has gotta be worth that much alone providing it a good un, as far as a respray goes thats just cosmetic, see past all of that plus if the body is in rubbish condition you could always re-shell it, if it is Ԛ£500 for the whole car bite their hands off, a 2.7 conversion has botta be in reigon of Ԛ£1500 im sure,

well said dude!

enda_kelly welcome to the zone!

just one thing i would say-make sure its a 2.7 stroker rather than an eta engine (there's 60bhp between em!!!)

If you want to know what a 2.7 should look/feel like-do a quick search, plenty of boys on here with them who'll help ya!

its gotta be around 200bhp if its a 2.7 i would imagine, dont quote me on that but im pretty sure, a few lads here have done the conversion but it all depends on what engine you have as stated above, however im pretty sure it should be pumping around the 200bhp region

Not wanting to be one to be pessemistic (sp), but I've never heard of BMW fitting a 2.7 engine in themselves...

Ԛ£500 seems like a good price though, but be careful it doesn't end up costing you Ԛ£5,000!!!

also a very good point, just make sure you give it a good check over 1st before you commit yourself, you wanna also make sure that engine is what he said it is, it is a very good price by the way considering everything is cosha of course:wink:

Yes iy sounds to me to be an ETA engine, look very closely at it.

What does it rev to? ETA's only will rev to about 5000rpm (bit like a diesel!!)
