pressure cleaning door cards
Moderator: martauto
Yes you are asking for trouble, the glue will probably seperate and the fibreboard will turn to mush. I can't for the life of me think why you would ever need to pressure wash them, a good srub with some APC or if push came to shove TFR and a nail brush followed by a wipe over with some clean water to remove any residue.
Le Mans Classic 2006APC is all purpose cleaner something like Autosmart G101 or even Tesco's own branded one, daisy is good too, you can buy that in Tesco aswell. TFR is traffic film remover, it's truck wash, however it's very good at cleaning vinyl, be careful though it's a little caustic, buy it in good car acessory shops.
Le Mans Classic 2006If you get the chance a chat with the autoglym or autosmart rep and get their apc (cleanall for autoglym and g101 for autosmart) and dilution ratio 30:1 in a free bottle they will give you.
Use with a stiff sponge (the rep will sell you one of those as well) and that will lift the grime. If its really manky then you might need a finger nail brush and push comes to shove a "majic sponge". However, the "majic sponge" may remove the grain from the plastic if used with too much pressure.
I normally spray the apc onto the sponge and use it that way on door cards rather than spraying the door cards with the apc.
Rinse the sponge in a (large) bucket of water every 1/3 of door card so its nice and clean and your not dragging the dirt around.
Wipe down with a costco mf.
Job done.
(hope that makes sense)

Stripping e30 touring
Just one more question will these chemical work on the Pretend suede/carpet/fuzzy/cloth stuff that my door cards are half made of? I am sure the vinyl should clean up, but this other material looks dodgy.
