Right, So im planning on upgrading the steering rack on the left hooker (who has now been named 'Florida' )

Now I have been under the car looking at the positions of things.

Can Anyone tell me if I found a Lhd z3 or e36 rack would it be a straight swap and identical to RHD? The steering UJ looks different on the LHD e30 compared to what i remember of the rhd.

will the e30 track rod ends fit straight into the z3/e36 racks?

Are there any other racks that will work?

Oh yeh, and if anyone has any getting in the way let me know winkeye

Many Thanx!!!!

Have you tried looking on the American E30 forum? I'd have thought they'd be up to speed on rack conversions for LHD cars, plus as a bonus it's all in English. :D
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

If you get an M3 steering rack, it will be a straight swap.

For the E36 or Z3 rack you will need to adjust the thickness of the spacer between the two halves of the universal joint.

Also if you decide to go for the Z3 route, make sure you get a real Z3 rack, when I was looking for one, most people were trying to sell me an overpriced E36 rack and then claim that both are completely identical.
