Just let my mate have a go in my motor, and he tried spinning the wheels up a couple of times. Now it fcking stinks, kinda like burning wire, or burning somthing. And it dosnt pull as well.

yea doing it properly probably does less damage to the clutch anyway! (but more to your tyres  )

Did you not look at the clutch when you did the engine swap?

Gwynleym10- No mate, didnt have time to look, or money to replace it lol.

Its still ok atm , but you can tell its on the way out. Very little bite left in lower gears, right on the edge. And it dosnt pull as well.

I always let people drive my car, everytime i do somthing it seems fine, but when my freinds drive it, somthing bad happens.

Thats it, no more!

Got to tax the piece of sh*t this week as well, service it, clutch, two more new tyres already. FFS.

Only bought it for 800 sobs lol, basically spent that whole car again

and u will again and again ... and ( u get the point)

but,.. when u say clutch gone, is it slipping all the time or only when u are gunning it some?

i went for a "spirited" drive with a fellow tourer last week, kept pace but at one point i threw fithand the clutch began slipping all the way up to 4500 so i eased off .

No probs with the clutch afterwards at all, but it got mega hot it began to loose its effectiveness

yep, I don't do wheelspins, doughnuts, burnouts or 1/4 mile runs, and there is no need for fast starts at track days because we run from the pit lane! No excuse for not looking after the clutch.

Incidentally, what is the labour on a clutch change/gearbox changed on an E30?

lol, she runs sweat normally boys. I got the car for 800quid.....so i aint too bothered.

The clutch seems to be alright now, or at least better anyway. So im thinking what Johnono is saying is prolly right, it must have heated up a bit, but now it seems better. Is still a little on the edge, but ill change it soon anyway, might do a bit of a rebuild on the lump soon anyway as the cars mint

if it was the clutch it would slip in higher gears when you put your foot down..

a clutch slip is v v obvious
