I have a 325 that has had a new head years ago. However, the car feels down on power and when trying to find if it got the correct head, I have noticed that where the "885" cast usually is the letters "AML" are cast with no numbers at all. Also, above plug 2 (where it usually says 2.5 2.7) there there is no boss sticking out at all, and no stamped marks either. Can anyone shed some light on what this head is or if they have seen this before?

The letters will be AMC , a spanish company that makes head castings, these are an exact replica of a bmw casting and finished to a very high standard. I have never seen one crack unlike the originals........

Thanks. Do you know how to tell if its a 325 head or a lesser one without taking the head off?pacerpete wrote:The letters will be AMC , a spanish company that makes head castings, these are an exact replica of a bmw casting and finished to a very high standard. The port sizes are a lot different, so I imagine your losing about 35bhp if that's the case, which I doubt. You're lack of power could be due to something else dude.
