Ok - so Ive been drving my e30 for about 2 weeks now and up until then i was driving an almera 1.4 hatch and before that a 1.1 fiesta.....
- I totaly appreciate that breaking distances will be longer but i wouldn't be lying in saying that i have felt a little caught out in a few instances - the pedal is just so deep and and i feel when i really give it some the wheels lock and she starts to twitch a bit- Now i am not talking about track day racing - i am talking about day to day driving - the roads here in ireland are twisty and bumpy but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to slow her down. I just wish i had a bit more faith in the stopping power - after spending 3 grand on mods etc so i cant afford anything too fancy but if anyone has a suggestion o a middle of the road braking improvement i would be very interested - i dont think they make a steel hose kit for te 320i do they?
very much appreciated

could be the brake fluid. might need to bleed the brake system. or maybe flush the system and refill?!?

My car was also feeling sponge and taking for ever to stop, i thought my brakes were shot, took it to BMW, they checked and told me the pads and discs were fine, the system just needed to be bleed. was much better after that.

bleed, bleed and bleed again. :)

I'm pretty sure you can get steel hose kits - check the pages on the group buy forum

Sticky calipers?

I've changed all of mine as I had some brake unevenness (sp).

Sorted it out bigtime, the seals were all knackered and the poor things were shot after 152k!!

HTH, Mark.
