Does the fuel pump run? You should hear it.

take the back seat up and the small black panel, put your hand on the fuel pump, if it works you'll feel it, just recently had to change mine. people say you can hear it but i cant hear it (and no i'm not 75 :D )

To check the fuel pump, first check fuse 11 is OK, then pull out the fuel pump relay and link together pins 30 and 87 of its base. This should make it run continuously, even without the ignition switch being on, and will easily be heard (if it's OK), without the noise of the engine masking it.

Quick update have check the fuel pump don't think it's that tested all the terminal but the second terminal with 2 pins don't seem to be getting a feed. I take it one side is + and - does the - have to have to have power? so run a wire from the bat to the connection at the pump then the pump started to spin or buzz but when trayed to start no luck then went to replaced the fuel filter still no luck anyone has an idea what it could have gone wrong as don't want to replace the pump and find it's not that! Put enough petrol please help thanks guys for your advices helmi

Does the pump run if you do exactly what I stated in my last post?
Do you have sparks at a spark plug when cranking?

Or forgot to say all the fuses are okay and relays as well. Just can't think of any thing else as my mechanics skills are not all that bit I get buy sometimes.

If you're really not good with electrics, take out Fuse 11, crank the engine for a bit, then disconnect the rubber fuel line from the injector rail (it's at the end closest to the bulkhead) and pop the end of the hose into a bottle. Stick Fuse 11 back in, crank the car for a few seconds and see if you get fuel into the bottle. If you do, your fuel system is working.

There are reasons not to test the fuel system like this (risk of spraying fuel everywhere being one) but a screwdriver on a jubilee clip is all it takes.
