Hello guys and girls,

We are going again to the Ring, the Nordschleife. We do make reports of those weekends. With pictures and so on. We would like to make a small report here, if someone would like that. And if you want to see more of it, we can get an url here so you can read the full sized stuff.

The coming weekend, we are going there with 3 E30s, 2 325i and one 318is. With a little luck, two other E30s will join us. So if we can manage it, there will be some great pictures with some E30s on it. And all driving on the Ring.

On the saturday morning we are doing new suspension and shockabsorbers underneath one of the beemers. H&R Suspension and Koni adjustables. That will be a big difference.

Well, we will have some fun I guess.

See you all next maonday here.

WILL do this very soon, personal ambition. Any good informative websites about what to expect when I get there? How long does it take to drive there from England? Don't really know how it all works, isn't it sort of a public road or something? How do they space everyone out? Me thinks it has got to be a recipe for disaster with fast bikes, slow(ish) cars, eg Mk2 Golfs etc, and very fast cars eg 911 turbo's, Evo's, various exotica all battling it out at once...... 8O

Sorry for all the questions....

Think I might have seen that somewhere mate. Nice to see u calmed yourself down a little Artis, you will find people are a lot more receptive to you in general when you have a nice, helpful attitude. Respect.....

Is there not an official 'ring' site?

There's a few local guys heading over there this weekend too. Looks like it'll be busy.

They're driving a wee metallic blue Nova. Be sure to give them a wave :)
Once driven, forever smitten.
Direct injection, turboed, intercooled, 16 valves giving a whopping 48.5hp/litre!! :(

Its not a 'battle' and you shouldn't go with that attitude its 'tourist driving' on a one way public road, you'll find the locals in their golf Mk2s are quicker than most of the Porsche's anyway

http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/ has almost everything you need to know, read it thoroughly

Takes 4.5 hrs ish to drive from calais
Do a search on here for some of my other posts on the subject, that'll give you a bit more info
Cheers,
Robin

Well we are back and safe and sound. But it was a very busy weekend.
First we came to RR were my new 325i is parked and we knew had to fix a hole in te beemer. But the hole was getting bigger and bigger, teh longer we worked on it. But we managed to fixed it anyway. But the exhaust was broken, that we didnt know, so we had to fix that too. Well, it was some work but not a real problem. We had the Group A exhaust there so we changed it.
And the brakepads were worn down, so that we had te do too.
We came on saturday at 09.45 and went to the track around half past three.
Well, we had to change some stuff on the second beemer as well. So, I was very tired after that pitstop. On the Ring it was like crazy, very busy. The cannonballrun was there so it was crowded. When we went on the ring, the track was half wet. So, we took it easy. After some laps we did it better, still a bit wet and tricky and busy, but we could do a nice lap. Nice laptime and that on a track that wasnt totally dry.

At the last lap the enginemountains were ripped off, so we had to stop and with some talks with RR we desided to fix it on sunday morning. So we did. They are great.
So on sunday we did the enginemountains and fixed them so we could drive the sunday. But the suspension of the other Beemer had to be changed as well. So again we were back on the ring around three. And again it was very busy. So we did only two laps that day. Well, next week we hope we do better.

pictures are on my site and also on other site. Here is an example

Well, I was there too and it was a great weekend.
Friday a lot of testing was going on, there was a Range Rover at full throttle and it sounded splendid.
I went along with a couple of friends in a silver E30 AC-Schnitzer Touring and my own red M-tech iS.
I did spot the Sport with M3 machine at Breitscheid, and it is PERFECT....
Did a couple of laps friday and sunday without any drama, the Koni suspension works fine.
Just waiting for spring to arrive, so we can get to the Ring again.

Cheers.
