just had an insurance quote for an 2001 audi a6 avant 1.8 turbo which is to be our sensible family car, i use my e30 325 to drive to work only so its on limited mileage(3000) as the audi would be as its only used at weekends, i pay £180 a year for the bm, and they want nearly £400 for the audi.
yet if i put the wife as a named driver it goes down to £250?????? :?

Women actually have more crashes per mile than men, but they tend to have small silly knocks and scrapes which are cheap and easy to fix. Men crash less often, but when the do they tend to do it properly!

I have both the mrs and my mum insured on all my cars because it knocks at least a couple of hundred quid off all of them.
cheers,

Both of the above is true, but also women tend to have many accidents where they don't bother insurance companies. Such as reversing into other peoples parked cars and scratching it on low rise walls.

A friend works in an insurance brokes and gets to look up all the stats of the years.

Apparently, new female drivers actually get worse quotes than young male drivers, say for a Saxo VTR or golf GTI. But on average male drivers insurance starts higher, but drops quicker and eventually goes to lower qoutes than women.

He said the best are chelsea tractor quotes for the women. A female on average pays 2 times as much as a man due to the amount of women who are involved in accidents in those cars, providing they are getting their own quote.

Yep, my iS which is heavily modded is about 200 quid cheaper to insure than a crappy '99 1.4 Civic I got for nothing from a friend thats going to Canada that I'm using as a runaround while I rebuild the iS yet again with even more extra vitamins.

It'll probably be 400 cheaper than the Civic at that stage too :p

:D :D :D

If your going to have an off, may as well have a proper one :D
As long as you don't go as far as having a problem like being dead of course.... apparently its a tricky enough condition to cure at that stage.
