lightweighted vibration damper?

Hi everyone, is possible to lightweight the vibration damper? today i have cleaned mine and i noticed that it weights something like 5kg! can it be light weighted like normal flewheels or not? thanks so much for replies

I that heavy to work with the crank, there is a ligtht wieght racign one in the US for m5 engines but it is about 1k
Also the damper is 2 piece and has a rubber band in the centre so not that easy to machine

As above, it damps the torsional vibration of the crank and so is matched to the crank, better to get everything else lightened and balanced than mess about too much with it, you can fit the lightweight ones but it could affect reliability and engine wear, all a bit of a dark art...

ok so that's better to leave it as it is... however i've seen on r3v that it is made in 2 pieces as jason said but i think that the rear one can be machined, since the balancement was done by drilling the piece in front, the one with the tooth...
