Hi guys, I am in the process of selling my e46 328Ci to get an e30 325, the last one I had, I chipped, cammed, fitted a new exhaust and intake and it apparently put out around 185hp at the crank when the new owner dyno'd it. I am selling the e46 to get an e30 and tune it, and realistically, to get the type of power I want (over 250) I know I will have to use forced induction.

So I was hoping one of you fine gentleman could give me some pointers on what I can/should do, a supercharger appeals to me as in theory the block can remain standard apart from a freshen up to cope with the strain. Will I be able to reach my 250 wheel horsepower goal for £1000 or less? (the more power the better)

Thanks for your input in advance, I am new to the forum, but I have owned an e30 previously and know a fair amount about them and engines and tuning in general so fire away.

Have a read on e30tech, lots of turbo info there.

250bhp will be easy on a boosted m20 but a 1k budget may be challenging and depends how much fab work you do your self.

thanks for the input, there are a couple of already turbod cars and what I have been considering is just buying one already done, its just I have spotted a very tidy 4 door 325 which floated my boat, but if you believe £1k isn't enough then I will look at buying one pre done as there are plenty of those about. Thanks for your input and the straight up answer!

Just refreshing your bottom end with a crank grind, new shells,ARP bolts, hone and new rings will take most of your £1000 methinks.
Ant is supplying supercharger kits, may be worth a search and trawl through what comes up.
BMW Mini Eaton 'chargers are easy to find cheapish, but I doubt that you can make 250bhp at the wheels with one!
