m50 problem

any of you guys had any problems with the timing chain on your m50. my car the other day when warmed up makes a nice tapping/rapping noise. just hoping it's not the bottom end.

I think timing chain tensioners have been known to fail.
Can be changed with the engine in the car,but vanos complicates thing.
You'll propably get more knowledgeable answers from an E36 group.
