Hi there,

Im looking at a convertible e30 at the moment, thing is there is another one with a really good roof but the rest of the car is is bad shape.

My question is how hard is it to remove the roof, im guessing that the workings must be behind the rear door cards? Ive tried searching but cant seem to find anything

Just wondering if anyone has any pictures or help on how to do it?

Cheers!

Dom :P

2 (IIRC) bolts each side under the flap that covers the hood when it's down. Pay attention to where the shims are on the bolts so that you can put them back in the same order!

Ok then, i thought that may be the case. That shouldn't be too tricky then... hmmm they sound like famous last words.

Nowt to it... as long as they're both manual.

Yes im pretty sure they are, think that on both you had to pull a handle in the rear door card, ive never owned an e30 cabby so im not to up to speed with them!

Every days a school day...

if you look in the care and detailing section at the top are instruction videos that explain how to fit the roof, courtesy on Blitz

I CHANGED MINE IN ABOUT 15 MINS if you open the horseshoe you will see a nut towards the front there is one on each side you will need a long reach socket the hardest part is lifting it off ideally get a friend to help lift it will only take 15 mins its that easy good luck . :D
