I've got a couple of questions after reading the "chipping that ecu" thread.
It seems I've got a few choices of readily available chips for my car.
1. Superchip
2. BBR Starchip
3. Zone chip
4. ChippedUK chip
afaik they all do the same thing. change fuel ratio and tighten up the advance/retard curve. I've also heard that they raise the rev limiter a bit, is this true?
I know the question of which is best is dependant of which chip matches you specific engine best and as they're not custom mapped I'm never going to get the absolute best. But I'm sure some are more aggressive. Does anybody know how they differ?
My father sells the superchips but they use a protection board which looks pretty obvious if somebody looks in the ecu, if you know what I mean. I know the BBS chips don't. Any info about the others?
fwiw my engine is the M40 so any info about chips in this specific car would be good.
I've heard that the motronic system on this car stops taking air mass readings after about 3000rpm. Can anybody shed light on this?
Price-wise the superchips are Ԛ£185, bbs are Ԛ£125 and ChippedUK is Ԛ£50. How much do Zoe chips weigh in at?
Thanks for any info.
