Very rare car that. One of the rarest BMWs ever I'd say. IIRC they even have Hallmark (or the emblem) on the headrest

That looks wonderful. In Australia that would be worth £12K plus all day long.

Noice! I'd say that would probably fetch +12k over here too if some Alpenis vulchers lay their eyes on it. You can just hear them chanting "OMG, once in a life time chance, I WANT IT"... click-bid, click-bid, click-bid :D

Well not to be too cynical ( and the ad does look kosher ) but how come it's just been "discovered" if it's got BMW history?
As I get older I realize that you can't please everyone - pissing everybody off is however a piece of cake

Bearing in mind I struggled to get $22000 for a very nice original M635 CSI, $20000 for a green 633 with a $20 silver ingot on the ashtray is probably not going to happen .

I'd possibly stretch to £20 for a solid silver 'H', but only because my surname begins with this letter. The stripes look a bit Bob Marley/rasta-man to me :rasta:

When were you in Aus, Pete? (how did you like it?)

A couple of years ago I saw a some very nice E24s going for silly cheap money (and an M635 just scraped $19K) but now they have really upped in price. The good ones seem even rarer on the ground now and their price today appears to reflect that.

There's an absolute beaut of an M635 at my mechanics at the moment that is on the market for around the $40K mark. Mind you everything is rebuilt in it. And those engines are far from cheap.

I think Pete sold his 4 months ago.

633CSi's and 628CSi's are just unloved. Why buy one when you can get the vastly superior 635CSi? There's just no point. The only way it would make sense is if it was genuinely good and cheap (£1500).

Ah, I understand! Finally! LOL! Sorry to Pete above...I think I misunderstood.

There's just not many of these cars left in Australia now. The 633CSi will fetch reasonable money if it's mint. It's sort of like a knock-on effect given the limited number of 635CSi examples around.

628's were a waste of time - well, they were fairly brisk(ish) but they were no more economical than a 635CSi which was (trust me on this) a LOT faster. 628CSi's are only worth buying if they are mint (unlikely) and £1500 tops. They look so gay on 14 inch wheels and without the spoilers.

Apart from the pre 1982 fossils which are 99% all rotten old teabags, 635's were E28 based which gives you a fighting chance of keeping it on the road. 633's were all E12 based which means twin servo brakes, original Bosch L Jetronic, centre bolt viscous fans etc. The 635CSi was a much better car to drive. Faster, better brakes and suspension, five speed box or 4 speed autos. The M6 was another car altogether.

The green Hallmark on Ebay would be nice for £4000 dependent on how much wag is in the wings/sills/arches but I think they're expecting a lot more. It's a great looking car but I bet it's not as good as it looks. They never are!
200 bhp 3 speed auto or 286 bhp manual M6?

that kinda puts it in erspective really Andy. Of all the e24's, for me it has to be an early e28 based chrome car in a period colour. Never been a fan of the highlines (too bulky) but the early (purer) e12 based cars are too risky.

This is a pretty car though. if it does go cheap, it could be a bit of an investment. My guess has always been the e24 is a bit undervalued at the mo.
