Ordered a mint condition wing off ebay. Another crap seller as the wing has rust! :@

Could this be repairable buy a good welder?

Most of it seems to be surface rust, but some has rotten away

Have you messaged the person you brought it off and asked for some cash back? Mint doesnt usually mean rusty... :|

A couple of questions as there seem to be some knowledgeable people here!

I need rust on the wings (it's pitted the metal, but no holes in the panel that I can detect) and slight damage to 3 of the jacking points where PO has used a non-approved jack (paint going and starting to rust) repaired.

Anyone have any idea what a fair price for the work is? Going to talk to a local body shop but don't want to be given a piss-take quote.

Second question - I don't actually give a stuff about matching the metallic finish, just want to avoid rot so I can get on with driving it and renewing the MOT in the future. Is it safe to get the rust sorted and just leave the surface with a good solid primer coat on? Will that be weatherproof? Will anyone actually agree to do it like that, or will they insist on a full paint job?

Thanks in advance for any advice...
