Hello,

Car : E30 318is

Bid odd, only happens every now and again on start up - but basically it will go away if i turn off ignition and restart.

A sharp ticking (in time with engine revs) from the engine bay (heard from inside)

Could this also be linked to the sound I have always had when driving the car, a slight whistle from the engine can be heard in the cabin, sorry its hard to explain :(

Maybe injectors?? as chain and guides etc have been changed.

:o:

Any more info needed just shout at me.

Cheers

James

No it's defiantly not that..

I was thinking maybe it is because my car only ever reads 1-2mm under half way on the temp dial (and it is tight on the reverse of the clock)

Maybe this coupled with short runs of only 20Miles to work and 20 Back, is not getting the engine upto the correct temp... thermostat? Might be worth changing it?
