Evening everyone,
Im new here so excuse me im still finding my bearings.
Right then, basically i have decided its time to style my standard alpine white BMW 316I 1990. Below is my ideas of what i would like, carrying out the work and fitting etc is no problem as such. But i am a novice when it comes to styling so i will have a few questions, so here we go.
Colour coded trims (i can remove, prime, spray the side trims, drivers/passengers wingmirror, top and bottom of front and rear bumper, door handles etc myself) so thats the simple part.
Small low profile spoiler for the top of the boot rear, i believe they are made from plastic or rubber.. Are these a drill and screw on job? what is the average cost? and where is the best buy?
Basic body kit.. side skirts, front and rear bumper, does anyone manufacture body kits for 316's? i can only seem to find kits for larger cc/shelled e30's.. mine is only a baby 1.6 afterall..
I think i have the majority of my questions covered for now, it was just the whole body kits malarky i was confused about, i have seen the little spoilers before but never a body kit or where i can get one etc.
All help is highly appreciated!
Cheers guys and girls.
Where? what? how? bodykits..

engine makes no difference to the kit, they all have the same shell as in a 1.6 and 2.5 use the same 2 door shell you have.

agreed stick a tech2 body kit on there and it will look lovely. there are a few other options to look at as well though before you jump in. it really depends on your budget and personal taste. have a look through the photo gallery and see other members cars and decide from there.

Tech 2 kits as fitted to the car in my sig pic look awesome and will complement any cc engined car although not liked by all. The small sill skirts along with a 318is front lip spoiler and small boot spoiler is another good look which when colour coded looks sweet on a white car. you could also change the boot spoiler on that to a tech 1 item which is bigger with an inner painted part and a black rubber outer which works well.
Stay away from non bmw parts and dont go mad with the colour coding as the contrast of black and white really works so no colour coded handles or mouldings.
i have a set of the small skirts and a small boot spoiler if you decide on them, cheap too!

If your car doesn't have a spoiler look out or a decent bootlid with the holes already in. Quite a few people like the smooth spoilerless look and will want a decent boot without the holes.
cheers,
