I originally took these pictures so i would know how to put my lock back togeter, then thought about a how2 guide.

So...

My boot lock was replaced before i got it and wouldnt unlock from the outside at all. So i took a hammer to it and broke it open and replaced it with a one from a scrap yard.

I was sick of using a different key just for one lock, so after learning that a kit was available, i thought you must be able to change the lock code.

As im a tight bastd, and didn't want to pay the 15 quid for a kit, I used a spare lock set i had lying around.

So here goes...

remove your lock (2 x 10 mm bolts)

unclip this E ring and remove the metal L shaped bit (be carefull, there is a spring behind it)

Remove this E ring (beware of another large spring)

With the aid of a drift and a hammer, push out this pin, then remove the shaft and spring.

Using a flat screwdriver, pry off the cover.

Extract the barrel (beware of another spring)

Replace the offending parts to get a flat surface. the numbers on them help a lot.

re-grease then put it all back together again.

when putting the barrel back together, put the spring and ball back in this hole, push it in and twist the key.

Done.
