Hi there,
Tried to search, but couldn't find all the info I was looking for, so here goes - I'm looking to refresh my suspension and replace all the rubber down there. My car is an '89 325i Touring.
Could you tell me the names of all the parts I need and the costs (please include rear sub-frame bushes and also the upgrade E46 cab rear shock top mounts)
I understand that this will probably be a pain but I do def intend to buy some, if not all, of this so it'd be worth the time/effort.
Kindest regards,
Al

If you are planning to buy genuine BMW parts (would recommend the bushes as a minimum as they tend to last longer than aftermarket and I assume you don't want polybushes), take the car in and they'll tell you what you need. Some bushes you can change yourself, other need large presses to get them in - and that'll cost.
Alternatively get on www.realoem.com/bmw and it'll give you detailed diagrams and part numbers for what you need (the E30s are in the archive section).

Was going to just take it to the dealers, but I'd end up just getting them to do it all (and end up spending more than I need to). I thought if I could buy the parts (and yes I agree, gen BMW for bushes seems to be the best POA) then I could get Davie at BM Motors to do the stuff that requires expert persuasion (e.g Rear Sub-Frame Bushes etc) and get the other parts fitted either by myself or I could hopefully persuade Neil (320iTouring) to do some work for cash.
Hence this posting!
realoem is something i'm aware of, but it would require time and effort (and possibly more hands on knowledge than I have).

You'll probably find your BM specialist will get a better price for the BMW bits than you can - easiest solution is probably to go to Neil first for what he can do then if there's bits that he can't, get your man Davie to do. Neil will know the bits you need, no probs.
BTW - I'm a total diddy and I learned the OEM website craft in no time. Have a gander around it, it's really straightforward.
