What colour is the smoke? If it's blue/grey & mainly on startup then stem seals would indeed be a suspect. More likely to just be condensation if it doesn't do it in the summer though!
E30 in need of wiring loom smoke since April '11...

As above and condensation will dissipate in the air where as smoke won't. Smoke will also above be grey or blue and steam closer to true white.Ziggy wrote:What colour is the smoke? If your unsure a mirror or glass panel held in the gas will bead with water if its condenstaion. I forget the ratio of water produced from a litre of fuel but its surprisingly high, and is the most likely culprit.
