Strange experience with ATF...

Went out to my SPORT, been stood for 2 and a half weeks, started her up and the gearbox light stayed on. Reversed her out the garage, very clunky (!) so drove her back in and checked the ATF dipstick - NOWT!! Garage floor bone dry....

BUT, went out to the garage 3 hours later, dipstick shows FULL!! Is this normal? If the car stands a while does the ATF drain where dipstick can't read?

Am I going nuts? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?

Or did one of you sneak into my garage while I was listening to Steve Wright and put 3L of ATF in my car?
(p.s. love the show)

You should check the atf level once the car car has been driven 10 miles or so, then on flat ground with gearbox in park and engine running.

When cold it will show more on the stick.
Start the car put it in each gear for a few seconds, then check the stick, and refill if needed.
I usually drive a little after to make sure it takes all that it need then recheck the stick.
