3 door chassis are generaly stiffer and better for track use IMO (If you think there is only 1 hole in the side as opposed to 2
) thats the way I look at it.

Usuallly people prefer 2 door and with no sunroof. also a 325 would be better on track than a 318 for obvious reasons, plus you'll have alot more fun in one....

I have tracked then rallied a 4 door as well as a 2 door and really felt no difference. The cars both 318is and 325i in my opinion dont have the power to unsettle the chassis so i really wouldnt worry about which route your going down...
What i would say is if you can pick up a 325i 4 door for £500 cheaper you have a lot of money to then juice up the car; e.g new bushes, good tyres, service...etc
Hope this helps

I've just bought my first E30 2 weeks ago...it's actually a 4 door and has a sunroof.
I'm planning to take it to the track also...but i would of preferred a 2 door but this one came along for the right price with no rust at all and i'm very pleased with it!!

If you want to stiffen it up buy a 4 door and weld the rear doors shut, will end up much stiffer than a 2 door but slightly heavier

I have a 4 door 325.
The single advantage I can see on the 2 door is more choice on available roll cage kits.
