fan belt broke

mine broke on the way home today (15 min journey)abs light came on pad lights came on heater started blowing cold wipers were stuttering,water boiled but didnt empty,i think i may have got it in time but im not sure .anybody any ideas..??

the heater will blow cold as the fan belt runs the water pump what engine is it

change the belt and see if all is ok thats the cheapest thing to do but if it is knackered i have a good m20b25 engine here cheap

only a short jouney it should be fine in all honesty just keep an eye on the water level

A red light came on, and you chose to continue driving it...............
There will have been local overheating at the very least, but whether any permanent damage has been done, you will find out when the belt's been replaced.

cheers,only the mentiond lights came on,i was also on the motorway so assumed this would cool it enough to get me home :?

You assumed very wrong! There will be very little water circulation with the pump not running.

:o: :o: being mechanicly stupid i didnt see or know it was attached to the w/pump :cry:
ive never fitted a f/belt before but i would probibly do this myself,is there any thing i should be aware of..?
