wear on the steering wheel

How can I renovate the worn areas on my tech 2 wheel? It's in great condition with no loose stitching or anything but there are areas where the upper layer of leather is worn away and the surface is rough and lighter than the rest. I tried this stuff

Datourer, have just done this. What i did was sand down the complete wheel
with 1200 grade paper. Then recoloured it using Cherry Blossom liquid polish.
Gliptone might be a better idea, though i,m happy with the result, and no polish has come off on my hands so far. The leather was worn all over, plus there was white paint on it, wish i had taken some photo,s before tbh.

So just sand down down and polish? Definitely going to give that a go tomorrow. Just thinking, does it feel smooth all around again?

I had mine recovered by a local saddlery and they did a great job.
Any type of sanding / colouring type restoration will only be temporary and won't have the nice softness and texture of new leather.
I thought the price was quite reasonable but tech 1 wheels are pretty expensive here. You can also get some nifty colour coded stitching - have seen them done in m tech colours

Pol, my wheel was fit for nothing but the skip mate, now it,s a perfectly useable example.
Cost= Nantes, already had the polish and sandpaper, though as i said before, some
Gliptone Dye/treatment may be even better.

Try any saddlers. They are the only people I know who can stitch leather that tight.
