a back box will not give you perfromance only sound. Only a full exhaust system wil affect perfromance and even then in conjunction with other inlet mods - depsite what the adverts tell you.

Get the boxes opened up and repacked, especially the centre box, my scorpion isnt that much louder than a standard system on tick over or just pottering about but when accelerating hard its loud but not deafening loud (M30 too)helga wrote:hi, i have got a scorpian DTM system and find it a bit loud, is there any other staneless steel system that isnt too noisy?

You wont get any real gains from any exhaust as the standard BMW system is very well designed, you might gain 3bhp if your lucky,if you want more power id go for a 6 branch over an exhaust for gains.

My eBay-special Scorpion was so badly carboned-up that it was just plain pipes running through the box!
I took the grinder to it, cleaned all the carbon out, re-packed it with new wool and my buddy Johnna welded it back up. It now isn't much louder than the standard BMW one.
