Mods.... Sorry if this is the wrong section for this query!

Chaps, help please. I've got a second-hand cylinder head. It's complete with the cam and all the valve train. It looks to me as if the head has been steam cleaned as there's no trace of oil anywhere. Where can I get a bottle of cam lube, other than in a new cam kit??? I don't want to turn it over without any protection for the cam lobes and rockers.

TIA
Stuart.
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

Main dealers i would have thought, when I used to work for vauxhall they did it individually for about Ԛ£6, so i would have thought bmw would be able to get it seperate too. Depends on how big your local branch is to whether you have order it in I or not would have thought.

I think you need moly-disulphide or graphite based lubes, you should be able to buy it somewhere, either a dealer or an engineering works place may sell it to you.

All you need, as said, is moly grease as this is what is used when re building an engine.
