I thought I'd do a little thread to keep the worktime zone activity pumping again.

Just to ask what models do people own?

I'll start!

Daily:
320i SE Auto. 1990. Moredoor. 60k on the clock. Extras like a colour coded tech1 spoiler, map light mirror, 15" sprayed bbs, tech2 wheel. Nice mint 2 tone comfort interior. Begining to go pink :o:

http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... highlight=

Project:
1988 325i, 2dr Diamand Shwartz. Earlier HC engine. something around 65k on the clock. rear pop out windows. very little rust... so far.
Collecting parts. Got a new cylinder head to be rebuilt. Z3 rack. Getting a BTB3 manifold. Lightweight fly. Rebuilding entire car.

http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... highlight=

EDIT: Bear in mind that thread is from before christmas last year. Some things have changed! :D

So what do you lot have? Dailys, projects, collections, rare toys hiding in your garage?

I've a bronzit 325i coupe. 1989 poverty spec. No sunroof, no PAS, no EW - Originally on bottletops now on 15" BBS and lowered on sport shocks, springs and arbs. Brown velour comfort interior. and a FBMWSH up to 90000 and the mileage is now at 104000. Fantastic car.

This is going to be a long thread.

I've 3 at the moment.

First one is based loosely on a 318i shell which i'm hoping to shoehorn a lexus 1uzfe lump into it. Having thoughts about a bulkhead chop and making the V8 more mid mounted for better weight distribution. This is in really early stages and having just bought a house and gotten married I do not have a great deal of spare capital.

Image

Second car is a 325i in cirrus blau, which unfortunately looks a little council. At the min i'm in the process of de-counciling it and getting the engine to run properly again. Really nice example which is virtually a sport in it's specification, bar saying sport on the logbook. Going to smoke around in it for a few months and then sell it on to fund the track project.

Image

Image

The third one, a 325i SE is a spare parts car which is being broken on here and supplying the track car with some bits and peices. It's totally rotten and has done nearly 190k!

I got 3. All 2 doors.

No 1 is the 325i in my sig which is pretty tidy but very council. It goes very well but still has some electrical issues to sort out. I understand the dials, but I wouldn't expect anyone else too! lol A fuse keeps blowing too which means driving at night is a bit illegal. (No number plate light, no dash lights, no RH rear light)

No 2 is a 318i dolphin grey project about to get an M30 3.5 dropped in at some point in the next few months....
Image

No 3 is another 325i which arrived on Monday and will be butchered to keep/get the other two on the road.

I had the three in my sig until this morning when the cabby was sold to a very pleasant chap from Rickmansworth. I'll miss it, but 3 up together and legal e30s was a bit daft - the touring will have to go soon too, to make way for something non-e30, haven't decided what yet!

Something BMW? Something older? Newer?

Looks like you had a nice selection, but true, 3 road legal clean E30s is not really worth it.

Dan - I love your cars. I'm planning a very similar look to your white one, but in black with different borbet wheels (if yours are borbet t?)

Clean simple euro look. BTW, what happened to the little german flag colours on your bonnet?
I was planning something like that again, but with the m-tech stripes. Deciding against it though now as those colours wont really go with the car nicely.

Jon - Looks like your molesting has turned out nicely :D Clean.

Rav, always loved the car. How did you do the grills in the bonnet?

Personnaly, I'd get rid of that chrom gear knob...
Colour code your spoiler.
Get some deep dish wheels. Genuine aplinas are nice.... but yours deserves some dish. Borbet b's if you could find some would be perfect :D

Cheers mate. The wheels are Dezent Cups - similar to Borbet T's.
I got bored of the stripes on the bonnet, I prefer the cleaner look and other people had started to do it aswell.

I reckon Rav took those pictures where he works at the garden center, as that's where he grows his favourite pansies!

Looks like you had a nice selection, but true, 3 road legal clean E30s is not really worth it.
Shortlist so far is:

MX-5 mkI
MkI/II Golf GTI
MkIII VR6
e28 M535i
e36 328i

Though I would quite like a proper classic, something pre-73 to save on the road tax - trouble is, most things in my sort of price range are dull as ditchwater.

I would ditch the 328 if you dont want dull, what about a dolly sprint? The MX is the most interesting drive there.
