Hi,

I am adding a external wastegate to my ebay manifold and was wondering abot using a flexi joint between the exhaust manifold and the wastegate. The wastegate would be on a solid peice of pipe below the downpipe to support its weight.

Do i need the flexi pipe at all? And if I do have one can it be on the presurised side of the exhaust manifold (I.e Turbo ehaust inlet side) or will it leak?

Cheers

DAn

As I understand it, you need flexible tube because it heats and cools so quickly. If you don't have it, your pipework will crack.

I think it's best to put the flexible part on the low pressure side (after the wastegate).
