A quiet meet BMW wise, but a couple of other interesting turned up too....

(Sorry the pictures are crap, it was getting dark when I took them but the ones where I used the flash are even worse, just a very bright number plate and a black shape around it!) :?

That's it for the BMWs, just the four. :?

Shelby GT500! 8)

5.4 litre supercharged V8 with 500bhp, and a lovely launch making lots of lovely noise on the way out!

And this, maybe a little too unsubtle for my taste ( 8O :? ) but it was a very well executed job, and yes, it's a Ford V6 Cosworth 24 valve engine! :D

It was rear wheel drive with a Capri rear axle but with disc brakes, the guy said he'd recently recorded a 0-60mph time of 5.0 seconds!

It had NO fibreglass on the body, he made (and had photos of the build to prove it) all the panel extensions and bits himself from steel, and chopped the roof three inches.

It did make a fabulous noise on the way out too, and a LOT of it!

Good stuff! :D

Was it black with big wide arches and suspension set quite high?

I knew a bloke years ago when I was into Minis who built a Mini 2.8i 4x4 from a donor Granada.

He took me round Goodwood in it and it was.... :clin:

The bloke with that yellow one was also aware of that car and he had been told it is now in Japan! 8O

That was also a well executed build, even if it looked a little 8O :?

It had the radiators and fans in the boot, he told me one day he was blasting along and a hose split, and he left a big white vapour trail behind him as the steam poured out the boot vents! :D

But the look of it was the last thing on my mind as I watched the speedo go past 130mph on the back straight of Goodwood!
