Basically the car fires up when i turn the key and then just dies straight away. Got no idea why its just happened, not had any problems with it at all and had been running fine earlier today.

At least i was at home when i did it!

Any Ideas?

sounds like fuel pump relay dead, or the 12v switched from ignition not getting to it.

First check. Connect a small 12V lamp between the + terminal of the ignition coil and body of the car. Should light when ignition turned on, stay on, slightly dimmer while the starter is operating, and still stay on after you release the key. If it doesn't then ignition switch is faulty.
Second check - Connect your test lamp between fuel pump feed and body. Lamp should light for a few seconds when ignition turned on, then go out. Should come back on when the starter operated and stay on with the engine running. If engine stops it should go out again. You can get at the fuel pump wire (green/violet) by pulling off the boot of the c101 connector on the bulkhead.
