I got a used power steering rack as a spare but noticed that there were leaks at both ends when I removed the rubber boots. When removing the old track rods I noticed some small dents near the end of the steering rack rod at one end where it looked that whoever replaced the track rod before used a hammer to bend down the sides of the locking washer.
Is there any point in getting this rack reconditioned, will you get leaks at full lock due to these small dents even with all new seals fitted?
Damage to ends of steering rack rod - for scrap?

I did mine with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers - they are not particularly stubborn so you can do it without hitting it.
I think the later racks used locktite instead of the locking tabs - I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong though!
