I co drive in the 205 Cup, which does all the same events as the BMW's, they are really quick on stage, having had to move out the way for them once or twice!
The forums on the 205cup website are quite good, any questions you have will be answered pretty quickly over there
hi mattrs, you can build a challenge spec car for about three and a half grand, mine owes me about six but that incudes competition wheels.i also for relability replaced a lot of items such as wheel bearings, clutch, exhaust, etc.to do a years events ,service crew, fuel ,etc your looking at about five to six thousand.the bms have realy close competition with only seven seconds separating the top two on last weekends swansea bay rally.theres also a good social side to the challenge with nights out,bar bqs,and a yearly trip to sweden to practice on a frozen ice lake.to view some footage check out 205cup on you tube.
Hi
Not been on here for a while but I glad to see you all noticing the bms in action.
If you watched m&m the other night you would have seen me hit the armco in style. The weekend at nutts corner was awesome. the racing between the bms was as close as it got, the coverage didnt do it justice at all
The cars you watched were all rallycars built to rwd challenge spec as foxie has stated. Over the winter I intend to build a car just for rallycross and it will basically be as standard as i can get it . The plan is to bulid it take it to sweeden then rallycross it next year.
This is great fun at the fraction of the cost of rallying, there are arguments against it but the fun and spirit within the guys is great , that goes for the rwd series as well
let me know if you want any more details
