Hi all,
My friends e36 2.5 has been written off due to a couple of police cars smashing into the side and mucking up the axle or something like that. The engine is absolutely fine and he'd give it to me free so I'm just wondering should i go with an m50 conversion into my e30 (2.7) or not?
also what parts from an M50 can be used in an e30 2.5? I've heard the injectors being a straight swap
would love ya feedback
bless
M50 into e30???

Free engine? Gotta be worth having!
Do not forget the ECU,and if EWS is fitted all that gubbins as well.
You will need the sump and other dangly bits under it from an E34,though,to fit it into your E30.
I would suggest an M40 gearbox,or the 'box (assuming manual here)that is currently attached to the M50.Main snag to using E34/E36 gearbox is sorting the final drive ratio.
Other instalation issues include sorting the exhaust manifold and engine/EWS wiring.
Performance will be similar to your 2.7,though,bit more at the top end and a bit less lowdown grunt, depending on the spec. of the 2.7.
